Tow Requirements
Rent RV BC highly recommends all installations and inspections performed by licensed RV or auto shop
ALL TOWING VEHICLES REQUIRE:
1) MINIMUM TOWING CAPACITY OF 3500 POUNDS PLEASE CONFIRM WITH YOUR SHOP.
2) Installed & Inspected: Class 3 2″x 2″ hitch receiver or higher,
3) Customer is responsible to have hitch receiver inspected by a (licensed RV or auto shop) for any rust or loose bolts to tow vehicle frame and attachment points of hitch receiver.
4) Installed & Tested : Electronic trailer brake controller
5) Installed & Tested: 7-pin trailer plug (this includes charge line)
6) Installed & Inspected: Transmission Cooler (recommended)
7) Recommend: Equalizer Hitch, Clamps, Bars (depending on trailer and tow vehicle)
IF CUSTOMER SUPPLIES TOW HITCH, THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADJUSTMENTS AND THE HITCH MUST MEET THE PROPER TOW RATING AND REQUIREMENTS.
8) Customer is required to have the tow vehicle inspected by a (licensed RV or auto shop) and serviced for safe towing of RV trailer.
9) Recommend: RV Roadside Assistance
The best way to determine your towing capacity would be to check the owners manual of your vehicle or contact your dealer or licensed RV shop with your VIN and they should be able to tell you the options of your vehicle as well as the towing capacities. We HIGHLY recommend you have your tow vehicle inspected and serviced before towing. Rent RV BC is not responsible for any vehicle break down, any extra cost of charges for late returns, towing or recovery of a trailer because of tow vehicle break down not arranged through Roadside will be charged to the renter.
Rent RV BC will not allow any unit to leave the lot without proper equipment. The electric brake controller connects your vehicle brakes to the trailer brakes. This does not always come with the tow package on your vehicle. All TOW VEHICLES must have a working electric brake controller, before any Trailer can leave the lot. NO EXCEPTIONS. This is for safety reasons. Please confirm, electric brake controller and 7 – connector is in proper working condition, before you arrive to pick up the trailer. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS FOR INOPERATIVE ELECTRIC BRAKE CONTROLLER or 7 – PIN CONNECTOR.
Rent RV BC includes with the rental, a Standard Tow Hitch .
Equalizer Hitch, Clamps, Bars & 2 5/16″ Ball is available for rent.
CUSTOMER ORIENTATION
Delivering and picking up the trailer to and from your favorite campsite. Leveling the trailer; starting the fridge/freezer; filling up the water tanks; turning on hot water tank, emptying the holding tanks at the end of your stay. Clients will receive a full orientation of the rented trailer. Rent RV BC will cover all aspects of use and enjoyment of the trailer. Our orientation takes approximately 30 – 60 minutes
